Doors 8pm, Show 8:30pm $25 adv / $30 DOS This Fall marks 30 years since ubiquitous bassist Jen Hodge first picked up her instrument! Join Jen and an all-star band comprising some of her very favourite co-conspirators from New York's hot jazz community in celebration of this momentous milestone. Expect music and anecdotes (there are lots of each!) from the past three decades of bass playing, which have taken her everywhere from the Yukon to Hong Kong, from Andalucía to Arkansas, from hippie weddings in the woods to the swankiest metropolitan hotels, and from the humblest dive bars to the GRAMMY Awards. Of course, we're also going to be looking at what lays ahead! The outstanding combination of musicians on the roster for this evening is heading into the studio in the new year to record Jen's next album, her first as a New York city bandleader, so this is your chance to hear some brand spanking new original music and arrangements never before performed.
